Protogaea Civica III (Santa Rosa)


Final installation of geology flags flown at the Sonoma County Museum of Art describing the geology beneath Santa Rosa, CA.

The top two flags were designed in consultation with geologist, Terry Wright, Professor, CSU Sonoma. The bottom two flags, describing the Franciscan Complext beneath Santa Rosa are from those used in Protogaea Civica I and II.., the Graywacke/Meta-graywacke flag is flown upside down from previous flyings. Due to space available on the pole and desire to adequately represent the geology beneath the museum, an "anthroturbational" flag was not use in this group, like flown as the top flag in Protogaea Civica I, a flag representing reinforced concrete would have been a likely choice,
